Paisley Thanks

Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a good start. This is a crazy one for me...so much happening both at school and with Stampin' Up! classes. I am getting my band ready to head to regionals for Musicfest Canada to try and qualify to repeat our National gold performance last spring. We have parents night on Wednesday but it feels like the semester just started! And, best of all, my bestie is coming for a visit this weekend! So much to do and sooo little time!
Today I have a project that was kind of a happy accident. I was working on projects for my upcoming card buffet and was down to a very limited number of ink colours remaining to design the final two cards. I pulled out the Paisleys and Posies stamp set (yep...it's still available!) and started stamping with various colours, thinking I would find a palette of two or three that I like together...this was the result and I love it! It uses SIX different ink colours!

Isn't that a cheerful, happy-making card? Here are the colours I used: Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Cucumber Crush and Basic Black. I just love the way they work together! This was the quickest, easiest card to pull together ever.

After stamping my background, I just added some Cucumber Crush think Baker's twine, as well as a sentiment from the One Big Meaning stamp set. I punched the stamped image with the 1-3/4" circle punch and layered it on a 2" circle in Basic Black. I love the way it pops against the colourful background. I do have to say I am seriously going to miss Cucumber Crush when it goes away in June! If you love it as much as I do be sure to order your card stock and reinker EARLY before it sells out!
The final touch on the front of the card was a few Brights Enamel Dots scattered amongst the stamped images.

On the inside I stamped more of the paisley images and left lots of space for a heartfelt message.  Super quick and simple and perfect for a card buffet!

Have a terrific week!

Any Occasion Shower Card for Sunday Stamps

Happy Sunday! I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Mine has been very productive and filled with lots of stamping so far.
Today marks the start of a new colour challenge over at Sunday Stamps:

I decided to create a gender-neutral baby shower card...

I inked up my Any Occasions Sale-a-bration set for the first time (*gasp*) to create this one. It is one set that I just haven't had a chance to get to until now. It sure is fun to play with, though! I die-cut a Whisper White tag using the Lots of Tags framelits and then went to town stamping lots of fun little banners using Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz inks. I added a few little pearls to some of the banners and love the way they look. I layered my label on a lace doily and then on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock that I embossed using the Large Polka Dots TIEF. The card is built on a Crumb Cake card stock base.

I used the Umbrella Weather framelits to die-cut the sweet little umbrella. I used Crumb Cake card stock for the handle, some Tasty Treats DSP for the umbrella and a bit of Calypso Coral card stock for the trim. I adore these framelits and definitely need to show them MORE love in the next little while.

This colour palette offers so many possibilities! Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's projects and then have a go at it yourself. We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Have a super Sunday!

The Smallest Things

Happy Wednesday! I LOVE short weeks! I hope your week is going well.

The big news this week is the release of three new Sale-a-bration products...available FREE with a $60 order! As if Sale-a-bration weren't already fabulous enough, check out these beauties...

Any of these products can be yours with a $60 order from my online store or through me directly.

Now for a project. I was working on designs for upcoming events this weekend and came up with this sweet baby card using the Carousel Birthday stamp set...

I began by stamping the carousel horse image in Crumb Cake ink on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock, stamping off once each time for a faded look. That lace behind the sentiment is actually one of the images from the Delicate Details SAB set that I heat embossed in white. I love the way it looks 3D...like actual lace!

The sentiment is from the Layering Love stamp set from the Annual Catalogue. I stamped it in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White card stock and die cut it using the Stitched Shapes framelits. I added another carouselt horse stamped in Mint Macaron ink, stamped off once again so that it wouldn't take away from the sentiment. I layered the white oval on a scalloped oval cut from Cupcakes and Carousels DSP. So soft and pretty. The only embellishments here are a bit of  Mint Macaron ribbon (retired from the Holiday Catalogue) and a Sending Love wooden embellishment. The entire card is built on a thick Whisper White card stock base.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from the Better Together stamp set in Crumb Cake ink and added a couple of little flourishes from the Cupcakes and Carousels set in Mint Macaron.

I really love the soft vintage vibe of this project.
