Sealed With a Kiss

Can you believe it's the last day of January? That means Valentine's Day is exactly two weeks away! Time to get going on making cards for the special people in your life. Today I have a project to share that we'll be making at my Sealed With Love Valentine's class this Thursday...

I couldn't resist making a shaker card for Valentine's day! How fun is that? I created the background panel by stamping a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock all over with the lips image from the Sealed With Love stamp set using Real Red ink. Using the Layering Circles framelits, I die-cut the whole for my shaker, as well as the frame to go around the opening. I used Real Red and gold foil card stock for those.

Inside the shaker window I stamped the sentiment from the Sealed With Love stamp set in Basic Black ink and added one more set of lips (stamped off) in Real Red. I filled my shaker with Real Red and gold foil hearts, punched using the Confetti Hearts punch. I embellished the window using various die-cuts from the Love Notes Framelits, a bit of Real Red ribbon from the Sending Love Combo pack and a little wooden Sending Love embellishment. I added a hint of sparkle to the wooden accent by brushing it with the clear Wink of Stella.

On the inside, I stamped another sentiment from the Sealed With Love set in Basic Black and one more set of lips in Real Red (stamped off). I love the combination of black, white and red with a pop of gold for Valentine's Day!

Avant Garden Birthday

Whew! What a busy weekend that was. On Saturday I hosted my annual Sale-a-bration Open House and it was such fun! There were yummy treats, lots of  give-aways, make-n-takes and, of course, displays of new product and projects. Today I want to share a project that has me falling in love with a Sale-a-bration stamp set that at first I wasn't too crazy about...

Can you guess which stamp set I used? Lol...the title of this post is a bit of a hint ;) It is the Avant Garden set on page 5 of the Sale-a-bration brochure. When I first saw this set I thought it was "just another flower set", but once I started playing with it, I am loving the possibilities! Here I stamped the blossom image several times in Pink Pirouette and Blushing Bride ink. I added some spatters in Smoky Slate (stamped off once) and the flower centres in Smoky Slate (full strength). The sentiment is also stamped in Smoky Slate ink. So simple and so pretty! Once I had stamped everything, I die-cut the centre using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and layered it behind a scalloped circle in Blushing Bride.

I added some silver metallic thread behind the layered circles and then adhered it to my card using dimensionals. The front panel is matted on a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Smoky Slate card stock and then mounted on a thick Whisper White card stock base. I added some bling with a few rhinestones.

On the inside I stamped some more blossoms as I did on the front, leaving lots of space for a heartfelt message.

Dragon Fly Dreams Thanks

Well, I don't know about you, but I can't figure out how it is already Wednesday! Where has this week gone?? After an absolutely FANTASTIC weekend at the Stampin' Up! Canadian Business Conference I have been playing catch-up all week. Then there is the stack of marking, exams and looming report cards at school to deal with...this stamper is pooped!
Last week I promised to share the swaps I made for the conference. All of the swaps were organized and we made set samplers for each of the groups we participated in. My first sampler was for Dragon Fly Dreams...any surprise I chose that one? I so love that bundle! Here is the card I made for the swap:

One of the guidelines for this swap was that it had to feature the stamped images prominently on the design...it couldn't be all about the die-cuts. So, I used layers of the dotted background image from the stamp set to create my background panel. I began with a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock on which I stamped in Pool Party ink, stamping several times both full strength and stamped off. Then I layered on Bermuda Bay ink, once again stamping both full strength and stamped off. Over the stamped background panel I added a same-sized piece of vellum, embossed with the Softly Falling TIEF. I love the way the vellum softens the stamped background. Both of these pieces are adhered to a Smoky Slate card stock base.

To create my focal image, I layered a Lace Doily, a silver metallic doily and a piece of Pool Party card stock, die-cut using the Stitched Shapes framelits. The dragon fly is first stamped in Basic Gray with the wings coloured in Pool Party and Bermuda Bay. I die-cut both the stamped dragon fly and a detailed dragon fly in silver foil. I layered them and adhered them to the card stock circle. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Gray ink on Whisper White card stock. The only embellishments are a bit of silver metallic thread and a few rhinestones.

On the inside I added another card stock panel (4" x 5-1/4") on which I stamped the background image again in both Pool Party and Bermuda Bay inks, leaving space to write a heartfelt note.

Have I convinced you that you need this bundle yet? If not, don't worry...I still have until May to show you just how fantastic this stamp set and dies are! Stay tuned ;) Also be sure to check out my upcoming class featuring this bundle...you can read all about it on the Upcoming Classes and Events tab above.

Have a great day!
